COOKING CLASSES

COOKING CLASSES

Learning about food in an intimate setting

What can you expect from a cooking class?

My cooking classes usually take place at a rented space like a communcal kitchen or a restaurant or in my own appartment. During around 3 hours we cook, chat, laugh and exchange questions and tricks and tipps about everyday cooking. You won't be put into a corner with a knife and a chopping board with a set of instructions. The cooking classes are to talk, exchange thoughts and ideas and to simply enjoy the food that we cook together. In a relaxed, intimate and laid back setting you'll be able t0 learn some new things about cooking techniques and ingredients and probably also make some new friends.

What's the occasion?

  • You can book a private class for up to 20 people. This can be a corporate teambuilding event, a birthday, a surprise acitivity for a friend and anything else that you can think about. I am also happy to host the class at your place or a location chosen by you, if equipment allows for it.

  • I also offer cooking classes based on a specific theme for which you can sign up alone, as a couple or a small group. This can be a seasonal cooking class around vegetables, a class based on how to incoporate citrus fruits into your cooking (have you tried my delicious recipe for whipped fresh Ricotta with caramelized grapefruit, toasted pistachio and Maldon sea salt flakes?) or an Asian inspired cooking class. Just check the dates for my next classes further down on this page!

What's on the menu?

That depends entirely on you. I have a couple of sample menus here and others that I'm happy to send to you on request, but you're free to tweak those and we can work together on a menu tailored to your needs and expectations. In general, I like to cook with fresh, seasonal and regional ingredients where possible and to give them a twist and some oomph through adding spices, herbs and condiments from all over the world.

NEW! Asian Dinner Feast, 11 June 2020

Join me on a journey through several Asian countries by exploring the different spices and ingredients they have to offer. I'll show you how to use ingredients like Miso, fermented Korean Gochujang chili paste, Chinese five spice powder and how to make your own dumplings and dipping sauce. In an intimate and laid back setting we will prepare a delicious dinner feast by making use of seasonal vegetables and meat.

The evening starts with a welcome drink, where all participants can get to know each other. Shortly after, we will start with an interactive class, where everyone can participate as much or as little as they want. Passionate hobby chefs are as much welcome as people who simply like to eat and learn a few tricks here and there. This is not a 'classic' cooking class where everyone quietly works on his own dish. It's to talk about food, share the passion and learn some new and delicious tricks and recipes. After the cooking class you'll be able to enjoy a full dinner with everything you cooked and more.

Sourdough Secrets, 30 May 2020

You always wondered how you can make that perfect sourdough bread at home? You tried making sourdough bread but your starter is giving up over and over again or you just can manage to 'get those holes in there'? Let's bake some bread together, equip you with the right knowledge and some helpful tools and have some delicious food together!

This is a half-day long class including breakfast and lunch.

You'll learn how to make your own sourdough loaf from scratch, from building and feeding a starter, through the process of streching and folding to bulk fermentation, as well as shaping and baking the bread.

After a successful and interactive class in a laid back and relaxed atmosphere, you'll take with you some sourdough starter, a bread basket, a dough scraper and a loaf to bake at home.

Breakfast includes fresh sourdough bread, as well as sourdough banana bread to be eaten with homemade butter and spreads. For lunch you can build your own melted, runny, delicious grilled cheese sandwich to be enjoyed with cold drinks.

Cost is 1650 SEK pp, including a 6h class, breakfast, lunch, drinks & all material you need to bake bread to take home
